Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 26, 2026

This policy covers every KS-ByteBox app: FlipConvert, ByteTidy, JuiceView, ByteTable, ByteDraft, MailCrate, ProofSync, PubCrate, ScanScribe, NotePeek, PageCrate, and any apps we release in the future. It also covers this website, ks-bytebox.com. The short version: these apps run entirely on your PC and do not collect your data. This website uses Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use it, as described under This website below.

What the apps collect

Nothing. These apps do not create accounts, do not track you, and contain no analytics or telemetry. They do not gather your files, your usage, your device identifiers, or any personal information.

How the apps work

Everything happens locally on your device. When an app reads your files, your databases, or information about your connected devices, it does so only on your computer to do the job you asked for. Your files and their contents are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. They stay on your machine. The one exception is a problem report you choose to send us, described below, and it never includes your files.

Purchases

Purchases and licensing are handled by the Microsoft Store. When you buy one of our apps, the transaction is processed by Microsoft under Microsoft's own terms of sale and privacy policy. We never see your payment details. Please refer to Microsoft's privacy policy for how that information is handled.

Support and problem reports

If you email us at support@ks-bytebox.com, we use what you send us only to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not share your email with anyone.

Some apps include a "Report a problem" option. Nothing is sent when you use it until you choose to send it. Before you send, the app shows you the exact contents of the report, including any log lines it would attach, and you can leave those out. What we receive is the type of report you picked, what you typed, the app name and version, the log lines you chose to include, and the country the report was sent from, which Cloudflare, the company that hosts our reporting service, works out from your internet connection. We store that so we can act on it. An email address is optional, so you can report a problem without telling us who you are, and if you leave it out we have no way to reply.

To limit how many reports can be sent in a day, we keep a daily count next to a salted, shortened hash of your IP address. Our database never stores your IP address itself, the hash is not stored with your report, and older counts are deleted as new reports come in. Cloudflare also handles your IP address to deliver the report, and its technical logs may include it.

The log lines record events, never the contents or names of your files. The apps themselves still send nothing on their own. There is no background reporting, no crash upload, and no telemetry.

This website

Microsoft Clarity is an analytics service from Microsoft. Clarity runs on this website only, never in our apps.

Clarity records the site that sent you here, the pages you visit, your device and browser details, an approximate location, and how you click and scroll, as heatmaps and session replays tied to a pseudonymous ID, not to your name. Clarity and Microsoft use first- and third-party cookies to do this.

Third parties such as Microsoft may collect personal data from people who visit this website. Microsoft collects or receives personal data from us through Clarity to provide Microsoft Advertising. We use Clarity only to improve this website, never for advertising. For how Microsoft handles this data, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Your choices: Clarity does not load at all when your browser is set to a European time zone. Anywhere else, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or block the Clarity script with a content blocker so that it does not run at all.

Cloudflare, which hosts this website, handles your IP address to deliver each page, and its technical logs may include it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
